We already have on order a fridge that can throw beer at us, saving us the problem of getting up to go to the kitchen. Now we are looking to do away with controllers for our game consoles. Luckily for us, boffins in Australia have invented a headset that allows you to control your PS3 or Wii with your thoughts alone.

Sony PS3After much rumour-mongering Sony has finally taken the wraps off PlayStation Home and in the words of the President of Sony Computer Entertainment – “It will take the industry forward”. We already reported it was thought to be a zone where you can create an avatar of yourself, very much like gamers can already do on the Nintendo Wii . But PlayStation Home promises to be so much more than that.
 
Burning Crusade sells 3.5m copies

world_of_warcraft.jpgAs reported on Absolute Gadget, hoards of fans lined up to get their mitts on World of Warcraft: Burning Crusade in January. Now in just one month the expansion pack has managed to punt 3.5m units. The pack managed to sell 2.4m units in the first twenty four hours alone. This is more than any other PC game in history has sold within an entire first month of availability.

 
Pinnacle turns Macs into TVs

Pinnacle TV tuner for MacPinnacle has obviously decided that Apple Mac users need square eyes as much as PC users do, as it launches a couple of ultra-portable TV tuners for Mac. It’s the first time that Pinnacle Systems, which is the consumer division of Avid Technology , has dipped its toe into the Mac market.

Xbox 360 gets more memory

xbox_360.jpgIt was announced today at the Game Developers Conference that a brand new 512MB memory unit will be available from April 3, 2007. As Microsoft is increasing the size limit for Xbox Live Arcade games from 50MB to 150 MB, making higher capacity memory units seemed to be the logical solution.

Streets of RageNintendo's Wii console is proving a particular favourite with gamers as the stock shortages show, but the company isn't relying on its innovative motion sensor technology as the basis for all the fan worship. As proof of that, the Nintendo Virtual Console has added another series of classic games that will have old and new players alike champing at the proverbial bit.
