Carphone Warehouse logoChannel 4 has been evicted from the Big Brother (Carphone Ware)house for good, after the mobile phone retailer announced it was cancelling its sponsorship of the reality show completely. Carphone Warehouse suspended its sponsorship earlier in the year following the race row over Celebrity Big Brother.
 
Pinnacle turns Macs into TVs

Pinnacle TV tuner for MacPinnacle has obviously decided that Apple Mac users need square eyes as much as PC users do, as it launches a couple of ultra-portable TV tuners for Mac. It’s the first time that Pinnacle Systems, which is the consumer division of Avid Technology , has dipped its toe into the Mac market.

BBC Trust logoThe BBC plans to launch a digital television product to rival the Freeview service and paid broadcast options such as Sky. The Freesat service would live up to its name by providing subscription-free services to existing licence-fee payers.

robert_adler.jpgThe man who was unknowingly loved by couch potatoes the world over has sadly died. Robert Adler, co-inventor of the TV remote control, died age 93 in a Boise nursing home after heart failure.

 
BT Vision to show music video, programmes from Universal, HBO

bt_vision.jpgTelecoms giant BT has signed a deal with HBO and Universal Music which will see music videos and TV programmes available through its hybrid Freeview Video-on-Demand BT Vision service.
