Tiny pop princess Kylie Minogue has landed a “major lead role” in the 2007 Christmas special of Doctor Who. Executive producer Russell T Davies claims the hour-long show – titled Voyage of the Damned – will be something special.
"This will be the most ambitious and best Christmas episode yet," Davies said. Davies, who has written the script himself, said he was "delighted and excited" to confirm Kylie’s participation. The 39-year-old singer will join David Tennant in Cardiff when filming begins later this month. The third season, starring Tennant as the 10th Doctor, ended in the UK on Saturday. Last year’s Christmas episode – The Runaway Bride featuring comedienne Catherine Tate – picked up 9.4 million viewers when it was broadcast on Christmas Day.
