Sky HDUK satellite broadcaster Sky is planning to do its little bit to save the planet. An ‘Auto Standby’ feature on all Sky+ and Sky HD boxes will cut the amount of wasted energy from boxes permanently left on.

The Meivo (which stands for multimedia entertainment integrating video on-demand) is a new LCD TV with an integrated computer, which, said the vendor, is perfect for the kitchen, bedroom or study as a compliment to the main household TV.

Celeb Big BrotherBig Brother 8 could have bagged itself a new sponsor if reports of secret talks are true, and the deal might involve exclusive Big Brother clips on your mobile phone. At least if you're a Virgin Media subscriber, that is.

Nintendo WiiIt's almost party time as the launch of Sony's PlayStation 3 inches forward in Europe, but figures from the US could spoil those celebrations. According to sales stats from analyst NPD, the Nintendo Wii is outselling the PS3 by almost three to one.

HD LCD flat-screen TV’s and games consoles will ensure that hi-def will eventually rule all, in the same way that widescreen has taken over. ps3_small.jpgAnyone hoping not to throw out their PS2 games when they buy a shiny new PS3 in Europe will be in for a shock, according to research carried out by a German website.  The people at Cynamite found that out of 12 of the best selling console games for the PS2, only one would work on the PS3.
