Nintendo doesn't seem to stop releasing classic games for its Wii of
late, adding three more virtual console games available for download.
Super Ghouls and Ghosts, which first saw the light of day on
the Super Nintendo back in 1992, returns and can be bought for 800 Wii
points. You play Knight Arthur, who is on a mission to rescue his
special lady friend Princess Prin Prin from the Ghouls. We are sure
that the knight often ended playing most of the game in his undies!
If
you are less flush, 500 Wii points will get you that classic shoot 'em
up game Galaga. Which we recall being available on the archaic game
console
Atari 2600.
The game revolves around controlling a spaceship and battling insect-like
alien swarms. Different aliens carry
different points and players only get to the next level by wiping out
an entire swarm.
There is also up for download Double Dungeons, available for
600 Wii points (no we haven't heard of it either - maybe we were out on
our bikes that day or something). The game was first seen 17 years ago
and
allows players to venture through 22 dungeons.
In the two player game the screen is split in two so each
player can go through the dungeons separately killing goblins, orcs, etc., and
earning gold and experience. The gold can be used to buy food and stay at inns. Experience points raise the player's level
making them more powerful. Of course, it wouldn't be a patch on World of Warcraft!
