Maybe we are wrong, but we could have sworn that we saw more than a few
PS3 on the shelves of our local electronics store the other day.
Needless to say we feel that we should be sending a rather large
invoice to Sony Entertainment boss Jack Tretton. Apparently he said in
a recent interview with games mag EGM that PS3 in the shops are on a
par with hen's teeth.
Tretton even offered cash to anyone who could find these oh-so-rare
consoles. "If you can find a PS3 anywhere in North America that's been
on shelves
for more than five minutes, I'll give you 1200 bucks for it," he said. Then the guys from the Penny Arcade website went off on a epic quest to find these lesser-spotted PS3s. Oops they found quite a few. "One hour and eleven systems later, we're $13,200 richer," they said on their website. We at Absolute Gadget also managed to find a couple in a shop down the road. Make the cheque payable to CASH please Jack! |
