Page 1 of 2 A metal-clad Shredder may have attacked the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, but now a very different Shredder is launching its own assault on fans of Guitar Hero. The Shredder is the first third-party controller to be released for the cord-ripping musical game.
Essentially Guitar Hero on the PlayStation 2 is nothing more than a version of the games played using the PS2’s dance mat. But instead of jumping or moving your feet at the right point, players must grab the right keys and strum their hearts out – an altogether cooler proposition. You can already buy a replacement for the original Gibson SG controller that came with the game, without needing to buy the whole game and guitar package again. But now you also have the option of getting your hands on the Shredder should you trash your axe at the end of a particularly memorable set. Most of the controls are the same: five fret buttons; a strum bar; Start and Select controls. However, the bonus-bagging Star Power feature is activated by shaking the Shredder repeatedly instead of raising the Gibson SG upright. |
