Final Fantasy XII launches in Europe Print E-mail

final_fantasy.jpgAnother game launch and the costumed fans line up along London's Oxford Street and pile into HMV to get their hands on the latest Final Fantasy game, Final Fantasy XII (FFXII).

Executive producer Akitoshi Kawazu and game director Hiroshi Minagawa, both were in attendance in London for the European launch of Final Fantasy XII. They took time meet fans and said that the game was able to show off the best of the old console's capabilities. Kawazu even hinted that the game could make an appearance on PS3.

According to latest sales figures, the game is the fastest selling console game and the second fastest selling in the series. The game managed to shift 90,000 units and accounting for over half of PS2 full-price game sales last week. FFXII, which has given a boost to the soon-to-be pensioned off PS2, beat Microsoft's Crackdown and EA's Fifa 07.

The chart from ELSPA, saw Supreme Commander drop from fourth to the twelfth spot, Avatar down eight places to 14, Little Britain diving to 18.

On the up was Excite Truck on Wii which motored up 15 places to 21.
